Community Arts Event Leadership & Public Engagement
I have led and supported the planning, production, and delivery of large-scale, public-facing arts events designed to increase access, foster cultural connection, and strengthen community engagement. My work spans multiple regions, including Austin, Texas and Mississippi, and includes festivals, performances, and interdisciplinary arts events developed in partnership with nonprofit organizations, schools, artists, and public agencies. Across these projects, I have managed cross-functional teams, coordinated artists and vendors, supported marketing and outreach, overseen volunteers and logistics, and ensured accessibility and inclusive participation. These events have served as powerful platforms for audience development, student recruitment, and donor cultivation—demonstrating how well-produced public arts programming can advance both mission impact and long-term organizational sustainability. Below is a summary of the most recent event production that I led in Austin, Texas.
Event Coordination & Community Arts Leadership – Celebración de la Música
For 2 consecutive years, I served as Event Coordinator for Celebración de la Música, a large-scale, free, bilingual community arts festival presented by Armstrong Community Music School in partnership with Todos Juntos Learning Center and hosted at El Buen Samaritano in South Austin. The event brought together families from across Central Texas for an afternoon of live music, interactive arts experiences, early childhood demonstrations, and community celebration, with full ADA accessibility and ASL interpretation. I led cross-departmental planning over several months, coordinated volunteers and contract labor, supported bilingual marketing efforts, and managed registration and day-of logistics. The event advanced institutional partnerships, expanded public awareness, and directly supported student enrollment and donor cultivation, reinforcing the organization’s mission that music education is for everyone.
Media Packet & Event Communications
As part of my duties for event planning, I created a bilingual media packet for Celebración de la Música to support press outreach, partner promotion, volunteer recruitment, and to have consistent public-facing messaging for this arts event. This is representative of communications efforts I maintained in my roles at Armstrong Community Music School.
